The Carolina Panthers are in the process of hiring former New York Giants Head Coach Ben McAdoo to fill the role of Offensive Coordinator after Joe Brady was removed from that office during the season.
McAdoo has been in the NFL since 2004, when he began his career as a Quality Control Coordinator with the New Orleans Saints. After time with the Green Bay Packers, including a Super Bowl victory while serving as Tight Ends Coach, McAdoo was hired by the Giants as Offensive Coordinator under Tom Coughlin in 2014. After raising the Giants from the bottom four in the points scored category into the top 14, McAdoo would eventually move into the Head Coach's office in 2016.
In his first year on the job, McAdoo's Giants went 11-5, finishing as a wild card team, but losing in the opening round to the Packers.
In his second year, however, McAdoo's success would drop dramatically, and the team would begin the season 2-10 before McAdoo was removed from the position.
In 2020, McAdoo signed on as the Quarterbacks Coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but served only one year before being dismissed. Last season, McAdoo worked as a consultant for the Dallas Cowboys.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported the news Thursday afternoon, but stated that the contract still needed to be worked out. ESPN Upstate will report those details as soon as they become available.
