
South Carolina struggled for much of the game, but was able to get a hard fought 38-28 win over Jacksonville State in Columbia, Saturday.
South Carolina won the "Battle Of The Gamecocks" after Jacksonville State gave them all they could handle. South Carolina led 14-7 after the 1st and 21-14 at the half.
Jacksonville State would not go quietly, they scored on two 3rd quarter TD drives to take a 28-21 lead. South Carolina got a 65 yard TD catch Xavier Leggette late in the 3rd to tie at 28 after three quarters.
South Carolina scored 10 unanswered in the 4th including a pick 6 from LB Stone Blanton with two minutes left to seal the deal. Jacksonville State owned the run game outgaining South Carolina 225-89 on the ground.
SC is now 3-6 on the season, they host Vanderbilt this Saturday at noon.
