High School Football has flown by once again and we are now in the final week of action. We have six region championships on tap across the Upstate on Friday night.

I have been fortunate to cover high school football in the upstate for more than a decade now and I have seen some really good teams in my time covering this great sport. There seems to be more parity this season that I can remember in a long time across the Upstate. We have so many talented teams and coaches but only one will be left standing in each classification when it is all said and done.
In 1A, Christ Church travels to take on the Sabres in a huge region game. This is only the 3rd meeting between these two teams since Southside Christian moved to 1A. The Cavaliers are coming off of a huge win over St. Joseph's and they will need another big performance in order to pull off the region championship this week. I think this one is very close, but I like the Cavaliers to pull it out in the end.
In 2A, Ninety Six will have their toughest test of the season this Friday. Matthew Bennett has done an incredible job this season in his first season leading the Wildcats and this week's game will be a defining moment in the state of South Carolina if the Wildcats can do the unthinkable. Abbeville is a different animal and they have championship experience that I think will help them alot in this one on Friday. I do think Ninety Six competes and makes it interesting, but in the end, I like the Panthers.
