USC Upstate downs Clemson at Fluor Field

USC Upstate Baseball got a program building win downing Clemson in Greenville Tuesday evening. The Spartans were able to double up the Tigers 6-3 at Fluor Field.

Clemson stuck 1st scoring two on the 2nd. Upstate would take the lead by putting up a 4 spot in the 4th. The Tigers got one run in the 6th, to cut the lead to 4-3. The Spartans would answer with two in the 7th and would shut Clemson out the rest of the way.


The Tigers got 12 hits on the day, but left a total of 11 runners on base. 2nd Baseman Noah Rabon and 3rd Baseman Cole Caruso both drove in 2 runs each for the Spartans. Caden Grice, Chad Fiarey, and Blake Wright each had two hits for Clemson.

With the win, USC-Upstate moves to 7-2 on the season, Clemson falls to 4-4. The two teams are set to meet again May 16th in Clemson.
