Boomer 'disgusted' with Islanders hits on Rangers: 'Should be suspended'

Boomer opened Wednesday's show venting about the Rangers loss to the rival Islanders, and didn't like what he saw on multiple hits down the stretch of an eventual 4-2 defeat.

"They slapped them around when they weren't looking. You know it, and I know it," Boomer said. "Noah Dobson hit on Trochek last night…Should be suspended. We all know that.

"I left that arena disgusted with what I saw at the end of that game…they were doing everything they possibly could to keep the Rangers from actually staying on their skates. That is ridiculous. You can't do that."

Boomer was particularly incensed with the Dobson hit on Trochek, which came late in the third period when Dobson hit Trochek into the boards from behind. No penalty was called, but Boomer believed there absolutely should have been.

"You could break somebody's neck with a shot like that," Boomer said. "It pisses me off.

"And Casey Cizikas, come on. Mr. Embellishment all of a sudden? We're gonna embellish? That's what we're gonna do now?"

The Rangers won't have to wait long to get revenge, and Boomer is counting on it.

"They're gonna meet Saturday at noon at Madison Square Garden," Boomer said. "And things will get squared up again and get straightened out."
