C-Mac can't believe response from Yankee fans after one 'heartbreaking' loss
The Yankees lost a “heartbreaking” game on Thursday as Clay Holmes blew a save after the Bomber bats woke up and came back in the eighth inning, but C-Mac couldn’t believe the response from Yankee fans calling into the station afterward.
It left him confused as to whether he was watching the same team this season as the callers, considering the Yanks just took three out of four from the Royals and have the most wins in baseball.
“You know things are going well when your team has a ‘heartbreaking’ loss…and my reaction is, ‘OK. We got Boston coming up,’” C-Mac said. “It didn’t impact me at all. I am shocked to hear the Yankee fan calling in…I don’t understand how there can be any other reaction.”
But there was plenty of frustration about Holmes, Anthony Rizzo, and the loss in general by many fans, and C-Mac says there needs to be some perspective.
“This team absolutely dominated this Royals team to the point where they were an out away from sweeping all four games,” C-Mac said. “The one day the offense does absolutely nothing, they still rally back to get three runs in the eighth.”
