Keith not buying Yankees as World Series material after 'embarrassing' loss

Keith McPherson was on the air right after the Yankees’ wretched loss to the lowly White Sox on Monday night, and his reaction was unsurprisingly one of disgust.

“What was that?” Keith said. “I’ve just been sitting here putting together notes and laughing. I have to laugh.

“Worst loss of the season for the Yankees. You should have seen it coming…Yankee fans were thinking ‘Hey, the schedule is softening up. The Yankees are back.’”

The Yanks were heavily favored over a White Sox team that could very well set the league record for losses in a season, but were dominated in a 12-2 defeat. For Keith, it is the latest bit of evidence that the Yanks aren’t World Series material.

“I’m supposed to trust this team? I’m supposed to believe this team can win number 28 when they can come out there and look like that?” Keith said. “How many ‘worst losses of the year’ do they have to rack up in different ways? That’s embarrassing, man.”
