Morash despondent after news of Gerrit Cole being scratched from start
Gerrit Cole has been scratched from Tuesday’s start against the Phillies with “general body fatigue,” and Shaun Morash had a minor breakdown while reacting live to the news on Evan and Tiki.
“I don’t know how you can view this as a positive. Momentum was on their side now, and this just feels so deflating,” Morash said.
“Can’t anything just go right in this town? Ever? We’re just dying for a freaking parade in this town and this has to happen now on a day like this when we were having good vibes. I can’t take it anymore!”
Morash felt like the balloon popped on the Yankee season, as he had just been sucked back in to believing with the emergence of Jazz Chisholm and the bats finally waking back up. but now, he can’t help but feel like the season has taken another major hit, and he says if the Yankees don’t pivot before the deadline, Juan Soto better be a lock to return in 2025.
“If Gerrit Cole is going on the IL for any sustained amount of time and they don’t add a starter in the next three hours, there better be 0.000% payroll excuses if Juan Soto isn’t a Yankee next year,” Morash said. “You can’t punt on the rest of this year and not add a starter when Gerrit Cole goes down.
“This can’t be it for Juan Soto if Gerrit Cole goes on the IL and you don’t go get a starter.”
