(WWJ) A barricaded situation on Detroit's west side involving a father and his two children has come to an end.
Detroit Police said the suspect, 26, and his girlfriend, 27, were involved in a physical argument at a home on Prest Street near McNichols and Greenfield around 12:45 p.m. Sunday.
The woman was able to escape with minor injuries but he stayed inside with the children for most of the afternoon. They are believed to be between three and five years old.
Police say both of the children are now safe. The suspect is in custody.
A weapon was found inside the home. It is unclear at this point what charges, if any, will be filed.
