(WWJ) A 27-year-old man has been ordered held without bond in the Oakland County Jail, accused of killing a Detroit firefighter in a case of road rage.

Terell Josey was arranged in 52-4 District Court Thursday on charges of Open Murder, Possession of Felony Firearm and Carrying a Concealed Weapon in connection with the shooting on Monday at a gas station in Troy.

Troy Police responded at around 9:45 p.m. to a 911 call about a shooting in the parking of the Shell station at 990 Rochester Road.

Officers arrived to find 55-year old Francis Dombrowski of Rochester Hills suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken by EMS to a local hospital where he died.

Detroit Fire Deputy Commissioner Dave Fornell identified Dombrowski as an active member and senior lieutenant with the Detroit Fire Department.

An investigation Troy Police found that Dombrowski had been involved in a "traffic altercation" that night with a white Jeep Cherokee in the area of Rochester Road and South Boulevard.

Police said the Jeep was occupied by a female driver and Josey, who was in the front passenger seat.

The vehicles continued to engage each other southbound on Rochester and escalated in them both pulling into the Shell Gas parking lot at Wattles.
Gas station security video showed Josey and Dombrowski get out of their vehicles and confront each other before Josey shot Dombrowski three times in the upper torso, according to police.

Josey then got back into the Jeep, which fled eastbound on Wattles.

Police said Josey and the driver turned themselves in at the Troy Police Department the morning of June 6.

A 9mm semi-automatic handgun used in the shooting was recovered.

Troy Police still want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident; either at the gas station or the moments leading up to it. Those with information should call the Troy Police Department at 248-524-3477.

Meanwhile, Dombrowski is being mourned in the city where he worked.
