Kraft announced Wednesday that it will release an “Everything Bagel” flavored mac and cheese for a limited time, dubbing it the “ultimate mac hack.”
The flavor, synonymous with New York delis, was the winning submission in a contest that Kraft launched with fans, receiving hundreds of requests.
The product will be available exclusively at Walmart.com while supplies last, according to Kraft, which said 15,000 boxes will be released nationwide.
Presales will begin at 6 a.m. on Nov. 25, with official sales opening at 1 a.m. on Nov. 29.
In a news release, Kraft noted that “from bagels and schmear to breakfast sandwiches, everything bagels and cheese have long been a dynamic duo.”
“The versatile and savory seasoning enhances the cheese’s mellow, buttery taste, creating the perfect bite,” the release said. “For the first time, KRAFT is bringing the beloved breakfast pairing to the mac & cheese aisle.”
It's unclear exactly what spices the mac and cheese will have; "everything" is often a blend of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion, garlic and salt.
The special mac is part of a new “flavor-focused expansion strategy” by Kraft, which said it’s currently testing “more than 60 potential new flavors,” with more set to be released in the coming months in “ultra-limited” batches.
