They say all press is good press, but for those running for political office, that’s not always the case; especially when the story involves Charlie Sheen. Surprisingly, that’s exactly what a DFW mayoral candidate is currently dealing with. Itamar Gelbman, who is running for mayor of Flower Mound, is being sued by Sheen, who is seeking to collect nearly $129,000 in legal fees.

The case between the troublesome actor and the mayoral candidate started back in 2014 when Gelbman worked as Sheen’s security guard. According to Gelbman, during his tenure Sheen was in “a state of chronic inebriation,” though he was fired after only a month, leading to the lawsuit. However a judge recently ruled in favor of Sheen, and now the actor is hoping to collect legal fees from his former security guard.

According to Dallas Morning News, the two were introduced by former MLB player Lenny Dykstra, giving the Flower Mound mayoral candidate another connection to a troublesome celebrity. A court hearing for the new lawsuit is scheduled for June. Sadly Gelbman likely won’t be getting an endorsement from Sheen for mayor.
