Moving to a new city is always difficult, especially when the people moving don’t know anyone in their new location. That’s why making new friends is always an important step to getting acclimated to a new city. For a couple in Florida, that meant putting flyers up around their neighborhood offering up free beer to anyone that wanted to come and meet them.
Amanda and Thomas Evans moved from Fort Myers, Florida, to Cape Coral, Florida last year, but with many people remaining indoors at the time, they decided to try something that would entice anyone to leave the house; free beer. According to Fox News, the couple posted flyers around the neighborhood saying “Hi, we’re new to the neighborhood and would like to meet our lovely neighbors. We will be in our driveway with drinks, ready to meet any neighbors who would like to stop by. We can’t wait to meet you."
According to the couple, their plan worked as plenty in the area came out to drink free beer and make new friends. "We had a few people do a double-take, free beer is a pretty easy way to get people to show up,” said the couple. For anyone looking to make new friends, free beer is clearly the way to go.
