It definitely wasn’t the start to the Cowboys season we were all hoping for, but hopefully we can all take solace in the fact that the team can head back to The Star and enjoy some of the finest heat-tracking toilets the NFL has to offer.
This season, the Cowboys are making sure their players don’t get overwhelmed by the summer heat with special urinals that can measure hydration levels.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer told NBC DFW, “It’s more of the humidity and what we're doing with the sweating. And we do all the sweat testing.
We’ve got these cool urinals. I don’t know how much they cost, but they must be expensive. It tells you whatever your urination levels are. It's crazy.”
With the heat routinely above triple digits during practices, Schottenheimer says that “science” is driving the decision to practice inside or outside.
“We’re just trying to do what we can to avoid the heat,” he said. “We don’t play in the heat. So right now we’re just trying to do our best to get on the grass for certain things and then be inside for certain things. And right now we just feel we can get better work done inside.”
Cowboys dropped their season opener to the New York Giants 28-20. They next take on the Washington Commander Sunday, September 20 at AT&T Stadium.
