Usually when a couple gets married, they believe the relationship will last forever. Of course, quite often that’s not the case as studies show nearly half of marriages end in divorce. Apparently living in Texas makes it even harder for a marriage to last, as a recent study found that Texans have some of the shortest lasting marriages in America.
USA Facts recently released a report on how marriage varies by state. Using data from the US Census Bureau the study looked at factors such as how many people marry in each state, at what age they get married and how long the marriages last. According to CW33, Texas ranked third on the list of states with the shortest marriages.
Overall, the study found that marriages last the longest in the Midwest. As for Texas, there was no clear indicator as to why marriages aren’t lasting very long. However, based on this study more Texas couples should probably discuss a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot.
