With Daniel Craig officially done playing James Bond, ending his run with this year’s ‘No Time to Die,’ one of the most coveted roles in Hollywood is now open, and plenty of actors are vying for the position. While rumors putting big names in the role have circulated for years, soon those rumors may become reality. Now, another big name actor has thrown his hat into the ring, as Dwayne Johnson recently revealed he wants to play James Bond.

Speaking to Esquire in a recent interview, Dwayne Johnson made a revelation about his future acting plans that shocked many. According to the wrestler-turned-actor, his dream role would be to take over the James Bond franchise. “My grandfather was a Bond villain in ‘You Only Live Twice’ with Sean Connery. Very, very cool. I would like to follow in his footsteps and be the next Bond. I don’t want to be a villain. Gotta be Bond.”

According to NME, Johnson’s grandfather Peter Maivia previously starred in the 1967 film. While Johnson had not previously been rumored to replace Craig his name will definitely be included now. Soon it will be hard to find a movie franchise Johnson doesn’t star in.
