As any fisherman knows; the job isn’t done until the fish is in the boat. For a fisherman in Australia, he didn’t get the chance to reel in his big catch before another predator came and stole it away from him. Luckily he at least was able to capture the moment a crocodile came and snatched away the shark he had just caught.
In the video that recently went viral, Australian fisherman Geoff Trutwein shared the massive catch that was stolen away from him. According to Trutwein, who was on his neighbor Nat Barnes' boat, the massive crocodile appeared as he was trying to reel in his catch. “We had been out fishing for a few hours and Nat caught a juvenile blacktip shark and while he was reeling it in this saltwater croc decided he wanted that meal,” said Trutwein.
Both fishermen were shocked not only to catch the shark, but about the unexpected battle with the crocodile as well. Sadly, it was a battle they knew they would lose, and according to Daily Mail, eventually Trutwein cut the line, giving the crocodile the catch. While the two didn’t get their shark, at least they got the video to prove it happened.
