When all those Bed Bath and Beyond stores closed over the summer, shopping centers were left with giant, abandoned buildings that nobody seemed to know what to do with.

While not a Bed Bath and Beyond, the former Bazaar grocery store is occupying such a space in East Dallas, but developers seem to have an idea with what to do with that site.

A giant, indoor amusement park.  That's the natural transition from a grocery store, right?

The store occupies 38,000 square feet on a 3-acre lot at 10710 Garland Road in East Dallas, and has been vacant for "several years," a source told CandysDirt.com.

Sky Park Adventure LLC co-owner Kyle Bickham wants to convert the store into a park that includes pickleball courts, trampolines, laser tag, a soft-play jungle gym, and video games.

Permits were filed in October, though Bickham expects the case won't be heard until March or April of next year.

If all goes according to plan, the former Bazaar grocery store will open as a new Sky Park Adventure complex in February 2025.
