It is now more difficult to check out the Dallas mansion that has gone viral the last couple of years for its elaborate Christmas display.

The Preston Hollow neighborhood the house resides got a permit to limit access to the neighborhood to residents and their guests on certain dates and times in December.

According to WFAA, the permit permits four off-duty officers, hired and paid for by the neighborhood group, to restrict access to Deloache Avenue between Preston Road and Edgemere between 5 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. Dec. 23-25.

A statement from Dallas City Council District 13 reads:

“The neighborhood group obtained a special event permit that allows the group to restrict vehicle and pedestrian traffic on weekend evenings in December due to large crowds viewing the holiday display,.

"The terms of the permit required the neighborhood group to hire four off-duty officers to control access.  An invitation being circulated on social media is not valid for access. Only residents of the 6200 block of Deloache and those on their guest list will be admitted."

Last year’s Christmas display cost taxpayers over $25,000 due to the extra police force needed to maintain composure as throngs of folks visited the neighborhood to see the lights.

The home drew crowds again earlier this year for its Halloween display.
