The difference in notoriety between Von Miller and Hunter Luepke is staggering.
Miller is a former Super Bowl MVP who recently joined the Cowboys on a one-year deal. Luepke is an undrafted fullback from North Dakota State who has been with the Cowboys since 2023.
However, there is something Luepke has that Miller wants: his jersey number.
Miller wore No. 40 during his tenures with the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills, and he had an interesting offer to buy it off Luepke.
According to People, Miller told reporters during his introductory press conference, “I’m not gonna get caught up in the number, but I did make some offers to him already that I feel like he can’t really come off of those. I think a lifetime supply of chicken will do it.”
Yes, a lifetime supply of chicken, which will be pretty easy for Miller to manage.
He was a poultry science major at Texas A&M, and currently owns Greener Pastures, which supplies chickens to local businesses and restaurants.
For now, both Miller and Luepke are listed as No. 40 on the Cowboys roster. Time will soon tell of the offer of free chicken for life is enough to get Luepke to switch.
