No one enjoys sitting in traffic, especially if they have somewhere to be. While many in DFW constantly blame the traffic on the amount of people moving to Texas, there are many factors creating road congestion all throughout the metroplex. In fact, a new study recently revealed North Texans spent an average of 67 hours sitting in traffic last year.
Location tech company TomTom recently conducted a study looking at the amount of traffic cities around the globe deal with on a daily basis. According to their data, DFW ranked 304th in traffic globally, but still saw an increase in time spent in traffic in 2021. While the 67 hours spent in traffic was an increase form 2020, the data shows the numbers were actually much higher in 2019.
According to Fort Worth Star Telegram, these numbers cost DFW $145.9 million in wasted time and fuel associated with congestion. Many are hoping these numbers decrease in 2022. However, if they don't at least it means more time spent with Jack-FM.
