The housing market these days seems to be in a perpetual state of chaos. What homes are available tend to be incredibly overpriced, and there are still plenty of buyers willing to spend. If you’re not quick, you’re out.
Thankfully, a company based in North Texas has found a way to build new homes in a very quick amount of time, by using old cars.
Netze Homes uses the steel from recycled cars and 3D Former software to build homes in as little as three months. CEO Najeeb Khan told NBC DFW, “New construction is at its lowest today, and it takes time to build. Nine months, 10 months, 12 months. What we're really creating is a solution here, having a home in 12 weeks.”
Khan added that this 3D technology is a “game changer” and allows Netze Homes to speed up framing and improve efficiency by reducing construction costs by 10 to 15%. The faster build time also lowers overhead costs for salaries, insurance, site security, etc.
Netze Homes is currently working to bring its steel-framed homes to several cities in North Texas. They announced its building of 60 townhomes in a project in McKinney, which is expected to be completed late next year.
