Since Eddie Van Halen passed away last month, fans have been searching for any footage of the guitar legend performing. Now, a rare video of the band’s early days has resurfaced and quickly gone viral. As seen in the video, Van Halen performs a number of covers at a high school.

The video comes from a Van Halen performance in 1975 at Pasadena High School in California. While the band was yet to release their debut album at that point, their set included covers of Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Johnny Winter and more. The clip ends with the band performing ‘Fools,’ which would later appear on Van Halen’s third album.

While the quality of the bootleg video isn’t on par with the majority of their performances, fans were thrilled to get a glimpse of the band in their early years. Of course, success would come soon after, as their debut album would be released in 1978. Still, even in the early days, Eddie Van Halen was clearly still a guitar legend.
