Rick Astley has become an internet icon, thanks to the viral “Rickroll” prank using his song ‘Never Gonna Give You Up.’ However, this week on ‘The Tonight Show,’ host Jimmy Fallon and guest host Dave Grohl attempted to replace Astley as king of the internet, creating a live version of the often shared meme involving Foo Fighters’ ‘Best of You.’ Now, Astley has responded to that attempt, sharing a video of his own.

Much like the “Rickroll” prank, the ‘Best of You’ meme was created to annoy viewers, as Dave Grohl singing “the best” gets repeated, instead of going into the rest of the song’s chorus. With Grohl guest hosting ‘The Tonight Show’ this week, they used it as the perfect opportunity to create a live version, or as Jimmy Fallon called it, the "Dave G'roll." Of course, Astley had to respond, combining the two songs, and creating a super meme.

“Dave, Jimmy, I saw your clip on YouTube. Amazing!! Felt the need to respond - keep on Rockin and 'Rollin','" Astley wrote in his now viral post. According to Loudwire, this is not the first time Astley and Grohl have come together, as the two previously did a live Rickroll in 2017. Still, Astley clearly has no intentions of giving up his internet crown.
