Opening day of the State Fair of Texas is still over a month away, but as if the metroplex wasn’t excited enough already, anticipation for the 2023 fair just skyrocketed. That’s because the 10 food dishes up for the Big Tex Choice Awards were just announced. The finalists will compete for best taste and most creative.
The State Fair of Texas announced the 10 finalists for the Big Tex Choice Awards at an event at Fair Park Wednesday Morning. According to Fox 4 News, there are five dishes in the sweet category and five in the savory group as well. For Savory, the finalists are Deep Fried Cheesy Crab Tater Bites, Deep Fried Pho, Loaded Fries Pizza, OX'cellent Soul Roll and Turkey Ribs.
The sweet category has some mouthwatering dishes as well including Biscoff Delight, Bourbon Banana Caramel Sopapillas, Fernie’s Fried Cherry Pie in the Sky, Sweet Encanto and Trail-Ade. Luckily, all these dishes will be served throughout Fair Park for guests to try. With these dishes, the 2023 State Fair of Texas may just be the best yet.
