There are many reasons people from all over the country love the State Fair of Texas, but the thing that keep guests coming back annually is the food. Some even make sure they begin dieting months before the state fair opens in preparation for all the fried food. However, this year they may want to start cutting calories earlier than normal, as the State Fair of Texas recently shared some fair recipes to hold people over until the fall.

The State Fair of Texas is still over 200 days away, but that doesn’t mean Texans aren’t already thinking about their favorite fair dishes. That’s why the fair decided to share a few recipes from the fair’s youth cooking competition. The dishes include; Rebekah Hale’s Texas Cowboys Cookies from Grandview, Collin Palmer’s Mint Stars out of Royse City, Summer Garmon’s Easy Peezy Pralines from Krum, Lawson Sanders’ Carrot Cake Cupcakes out of Fort Worth and Rachel Lucci’s Rachel’s Fudge out of Venus.
