For the second year in a row, Plano has been deemed the fittest city in Texas.
The American Fitness Index ranked Plano the 12th fittest city in America (among the country’s 100 most populated cities), up from 14th place last year, and at No. 1 in Texas, the same spot it held last year.
Per CultureMap Dallas, other DFW appearances in the ranking include Frisco at No. 32, Dallas at No. 43, Fort Worth at No. 69, Garland at No. 72, Arlington at No. 78, and Irving at No. 86.
Stella Volpe, past president of ACSM and chair of the Fitness Index Advisory Board, said in a press release, “Where you live increasingly determines how healthy you are.
“The healthiest cities don’t just encourage exercise — they make movement part of daily life through infrastructure, transportation, and community design.”
