Halloween is only a few weeks away, and while some have had their costume planned for months, others tend to wait until the last minute to figure it out. Luckily, every year there are plenty of great options to choose from between classic scary or humorous costumes and pop culture references.
This year is no different, as a recent study found the most searched Halloween costumes in North Texas, and the list included a little bit of everything.

A new report using Google Trends found the costumes North Texans were searching for the most. The list included searches for "costume ideas 2022" and "Halloween costume ideas 2022." According to NBC DFW, this year the top search in DFW was for “Encanto costume.” The film that won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature beat out a number of classics such as Spider-Man, Batman, cowboy, pirate, dinosaur and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.

Other pop culture references that popped up in the research were costumes from ‘Moon Knight,’ ‘Stranger Things,’ ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and the Elvis biopic. When looking at the last week, as opposed to all of 2022, the recently released ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ also appeared on the list. Using this research, no one in DFW should get to Halloween without a costume idea.
