Dan Majka is a web editor and news production assistant at KYW Newsradio.

Majka, a native of Philadelphia, graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Cherry Hill, NJ in 1997 with an eye towards sports. After some brief volunteer work for a small cable TV system in South Jersey and a job as a producer and co-host for a talk show on a small radio station in South Jersey, he began his career at KYW Newsradio as a part-time desk assistant in the fall of 2000. In 2003 he was promoted to a full-time production assistant and in 2005 became a full-time news production assistant. He recalls one of the busiest days he’s ever worked: the day of the Phillies’ championship parade on Halloween Day 2008. He enjoyed every minute of it. Dan’s strong passion for sports and sportswriting paid off in October 2010 when he began writing and updating sports and news content on the web. His writing includes stories about all four of Philadelphia’s major sports teams.

Dan currently resides in Philadelphia with his wife, Beth. They are proud parents of two children, Andrew and Kayla.
