The Padres lost their eight consecutive game on Saturday night, losing to the Dodgers 3-0 in LA. Yoshinobu Yamamoto was brilliant, striking out 10 over 7 shutout innings. Griffin Canning pitched well for the Padres, allowing just one run over 4 innings after taking over for Wandy Peralta, who pitched a scoreless first inning as an opener. The Dodgers only tallied five hits, but made them count, going 2-5 with runners in scoring position. Andy Pages drove in a run in the 3rd with an RBI single, Freddie Freeman hit a solo homer in the 6th and added an RBI single in the 8th inning. The Padres dropped to two games below .500 and will face a potential four-game sweep at the hands of the Dodgers on Sunday.
