Sean Marks had, as of Thursday morning, been mum on Kyrie Irving’s situation (deferring to Kyrie) and the James Harden deal (deferring to the fact it wasn’t official).
But when Jerry Recco played audio from a 2016 press conference where Marks talked about a lot of things that seem to contradict exactly what this trade did, Gregg Giannotti went into down-under mode.
“What we’re trying to do here is find the fattest, laziest, biggest a-hole in the NBA, then trade our entire future for him, and blow up everything we’ve built,” Gio as Marks said.
Oh, and don’t worry, Gio Marks had a little message for a WFAN colleague, too.
“I understand a little red-headed kid didn’t like it so much, but it’ll be okay, little fella,” Gio continued. “Go to mommy and daddy and tell them how you feel, and then drink your milk and grow and get your strong bones, and one day you’ll be an adult and understand how adults think!”
And then one last parting shot at Harden.
“So yeah, we’ve acquired the fattest, laziest, most overpaid player in basketball, and we’re pairing him with one guy that we like, and someone we haven’t seen in about a week, so it’s going great!”
