Clemson overcame early offensive struggles to find their way back to the win column, over the weekend. The Tigers won 24-14 at Virginia Tech on Saturday after the game was scoreless after the 1st quarter.
Virginia Tech scored in the 2nd quarter when they returned a blocked Field Goal for a TD and Clemson trailed 7-0 at the break. The Tigers then scored on two TD drives in the 3rd quarter and took a 14-7 lead into the 4th.
The Tigers then added a Field Goal early in the 4th and a Field Goal with less than 6 minutes left to lead 24-7. Virginia Tech scored a late TD and made it 24-14. Clemson recovered the ensuing onside kick and salted the game away.
Clemson is now 7-2 overall and 6-1 in ACC play. The Tigers are on the road at Pitt this Saturday.
