One Music Fest takes the cake once again since its start in 2010 as one of the best festivals to hit Atlanta. This year the whole team was granted access to a star-studded event that brought the whole city out. The two-day festival went to a new location this year and took over the Atlanta Central Park area with thousands of beautiful people, vendors, food, and of course music. As the voice of the community, it was a site to see the number of black-owned vendors who sold hip-hop board games, clothes, jewelry to even massages. And what's a festival without food trucks, and black-owned food trucks at that?
The Voices in the Streets team had access all weekend from singing songs with the crowd to taking pictures in the pit to soak in everything One Music Fest had to give. Co-Host Xavier Brandon, and producer, Danye Davis of Voices in the Streets on 1380 WAOK took on Saturday, Day 1 of the festivities, and were able to interview plenty of new listeners and loved how black culture was celebrated within the festival grounds. "From Murals of Stacey Abrams to Slutty Vegan wrapped around the One Music Fest sign, black excellence, fun, and community were in full effect,'' said Xavier Brandon. One of the best parts of the festival is the music, Voices in the Streets other co-Host and comedian Austin McCall raved about the performance he saw of the Migo's now consisting of only Quavo, and Takeoff who was brought out by Gucci and Rick Ross to help promote their new album "Only Built for Infinity Links". The main attraction of the night was Lauryn Hill who is a vet performer at One Music Fest along with Jeezy being a favorite of the team. It was a phenomenal performance, to say the least. To top it off It was exciting to see Amerie, Jagged Edge, and Mya perform classics that took us back to middle and high school- who doesn't like nostalgia?!

Sunday Day 2 of the festival was the ladies' takeover by the Voices in the Streets ladies co-host Desirae "DesiiTee" Tucker and Jathiya "Ms. Jai" Majeed . The two took to the festival and reported live from the festival being 1380 WAOK eyes and ears during the event. DesiiTee gained access to the pit as our show concert photographer and was able to get up close and personal with artists such as Alexis Isley, Saucey Santana, and Chloe Bailey. Performing at the Toyota sound stage the crowd showed up for each of the artists becoming a sea of black beauty that covered the entire area. Recently celebrating his birthday Saucey Santana made sure to turn up the crowd with his hit songs "Walk", "Booty" and the fan favorite "Material Girl". Chloe followed up with the same crowd reaction and was utterly shocked at the number of people that showed up for her stating, "Seeing you all out here has just made my day". The mini Beyonce' played all of her hit singles and went extremely hard for her city as an Atlanta Native. Sunday's overall lineup consisted of some heavy hitters such as Dougie Fresh and the Chuck Brown Band, Juvenile, Ashanti and Ja Rule, and City Girls who brought out Usher, Jasmine Sullivan, and Lil Baby.

One Music Fest will always be a staple festival in Atlanta that never misses to bring out the latest and the greatest of the artists we love to see. Placed at the perfect time of the year and helping us end our summer off right, OneMusicFest did exactly what needed to be done for the culture. We will be back next year and are excited to see who's hitting the stage.
