The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has been entertaining audiences in North Texas for over 100 years. Yet, all these years later that have found another new wrinkle to add to their repertoire. The DSO recently announced they will be forming a new children’s choir to accompany the group for upcoming events.

It was recently announced that the Children’s Choir of Greater Dallas would cease operation in July. With the group that was formed in 1997 closing, the DSO saw it as an opportunity to add to their show, launching their own children’s choir that will continue providing high-quality education and performance opportunities to hundreds of area students. The new choir will perform with the orchestra in large-scale works and offer individual concerts, according to Dallas Morning News.

The DSO previously worked with the CCGD for performances of Bernstein’s Kaddish Symphony and Britten’s War Requiem Auditions. Auditions for the new choir are currently underway. This proves that the show truly must go on.
