It has been a rough summer for community pools around the country. A lifeguard shortage has forced many pools to cut hours or shut down all together. Now, a new problem has emerged for one DFW community pool.
Officials have warned of possible rabies exposure at the Heritage Celina Homeowner's Association community pool, and many are hoping this doesn’t lead to another shut down.
Collin County health officials have sent out a warning that there was a possible exposure to rabies at a community pool on Friday. Health services claims a bat was seen in and around the pool located at 1231 Stanford Lane. They believe the bat may have rabies due to its behavior, though it has not been located at this time, according to WFAA.

The health department is now asking those who may have had physical contact with the bat to call the department's epidemiology program.
They also have suggested parents ask their children if they were in contact with the bat. Hopefully this issue is resolved and the community can continue enjoying the pool.
