The Dallas Area Rapid Transit service is helping out those traveling throughout DFW over the next few weeks, offering free rides on the DART bus through February 6. With new bus routes being implemented, DART is offering free rides so people can get use to the redesigned system. The free rides program was initially supposed to end on January 30, but has been extended another week.
With DART launching their new transit system this week, many bus riders throughout the metroplex were left confused as their normal route was no longer active. The new changes saw a number of stop locations changed or eliminated, affecting riders across the 13 DFW cities DART runs through. Along with extending the free rides program through next week, DART will also offer 50% off full-fare rides purchased with any contactless payment option from Feb. 7 until the end of service on Feb. 21, according to NBC DFW.

For those losing bus services because of the changes, DART has also launched the newly expanded GoLink program, which includes curb-to-curb transit using smaller DART vehicles, taxis and Uber. Hopefully these changes help DFW without affecting riders too much.
