Region play is the "bread and butter" for HS Football programs around South Carolina. This week marked the start of region play for each Upstate area region, except Region 1- 1A, which opened a few weeks ago. How teams finish in region determines seeding and home field for the first two rounds of the playoffs.
The top four from each region get in the postseason, region champs would have home field in the first two rounds, and the second place finisher gets one guaranteed home game in the playoffs. On the Oct. 1st episode of the Saturday Morning Scramble Rob Jones unveiled the brand new "Region Round Up" segment.
He's tracking 10 total regions throughout the rest of the season. Those include 5A Region 1 and 2, 4A Region 1 and 2, 3A Regions 1,2,3 and 4, 2A Region 1 and 1A Region 1.
