In his second State of the City address Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens promotes youth and law enforcement.
Tuesday's speech at the Marriot Marquis in downtown included Mayor Dickens calling 2023 'Year of the Youth'. Dickens said he desires "every person, every nonprofit, every company, every government agency coming together" to show up for Atlanta's youth. What Dickens termed a "group project" would focus on helping Atlanta's young people to reach their full potential.
Dickens talked about the reason behind "building the state-of-the-art Atlanta Public Safety Training Center." He added that the area needs "more than paychecks and vehicles to support our public safety personnel. We need training facilities and our police and fire training centers have been long condemned."
While he touted Atlanta's youth as being very important in his plans for the city, Dickens said that his top priority is public safety.
