“Bull” showrunner Glenn Gordon Caron and actor Freddy Rodriguez will not be returning to season 6 of the show and are departing from the series altogether.
Multiple outlets including Variety and Entertainment Weekly report that Caron, 67, and Rodriguez, 46, are exiting the show following an internal workplace investigation by the show’s network CBS.

Variety reports that Caron’s overall deal with the network also ended.
People reports that CBS did not divulge details discovered by the investigation, and that neither Caron nor Rodriguez commented.

“Bull” writers Kathryn Price and Nichole Millard will step in as showrunners following Caron’s departure.
The show stars “NCIS” alum Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull, the leader of a trial consultant firm based on Dr. Phil McGraw.
Rodiguez played Bull’s in-house counsel, Benny Colón.
CBS announced the show was renewed for a sixth season in April. Last week, the network released its new fall 2021-22 schedule, which included the show.
The show previously faced controversy in 2018 when former star Eliza Dushku spoke out about inappropriate comments allegedly made to her by Weatherly on set in an op-ed she penned for The Boston Globe.

Weatherly commented to the New York Times, expressing his regret at the comments, saying he was “mortified” when Dushku was offended by his “attempt at humor.”
CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl went on to defend the network’s decision to continue the show, per EW.
“First and foremost, Michael made a mistake in his comments, he owned that mistake, he apologized at the time,” Kahl said. “He was remorseful and he apologized again when it came out. He indicated he was willing to take any kind of coaching, whatever training deemed necessary to create a positive environment.”
