NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Newly-vaccinated New Yorkers will get a chance to win NFL tickets, merchandise and FaceTime calls with former players as part of a sweepstakes the state has launched, Gov. Kathy Hochul said Thursday.
State residents who get their first COVID-19 vaccine shots before Oct. 25 will be eligible to enter New York’s new “Vax and Win” sweepstakes, Hochul said at a news briefing Thursday morning.
New Yorkers ages 12 and up who received their first dose on or after Sept. 9 will also be allowed to enter, the governor noted.
Five weekly drawings will be conducted starting Sept. 29, with prizes including Bills, Giants and Jets regular season game tickets and autographed gear, as well as virtual and in-person experiences.
“We’ve enlisted the support of our teams, our New York teams, to help us get a very, very powerful message out there,” Hochul said.
“The earlier you get vaccinated, the sooner you are going to know if you are winners,” she added. “So do it early, do it often, and this is how we’re going to try and get a little excitement from our fans out there across the state of New York.”
