NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Nassau County's five public pools will be open at 100% capacity for the summer.
Residents can come enjoy the pools and interactive splash parks throughout the county at full capacity starting Monday.
While the county has struggled to find lifeguards, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran said it won't disrupt pool operations.
"In a normal year we would have about 145 lifeguards, we're about 20 short of that across our five pools," Curran said. "But Aquatic Director Lisa Dennis and the team have scheduled it in such a way that it will be fully operational, that won't interfere with our pool fun or pool safety."
Visit the county website for pool hours.
Additionally, outdoor movies and concerts will no longer require attendees to get tickets and capacity limits are being lifted.
The first concert at Eisenhower Park will be 8 p.m. Saturday featuring a performance by the Bob Marley tribute band, the Roots Foundation.
