During an interview with KFRG’s David and Kelli before Ryan’s set at Stagecoach, Ryan sang Maren’s praises as a mom and gave a hilarious answer when asked if the couple is competitive.

“Not with each other, I would lose!” Hurd stated without missing a beat. Clearly a fan of working with his wife instead of against her (smart man!) he reacted positively to the idea of a duets album with her.

“There’s no plans at the moment, but we obviously could,” Ryan said in response of a duets album. “I’m sure it would be a really fun thing to get to do.”

Maren and Ryan previously released a duet, “Chasing After You,” which went #1 on the Country charts proving fans accept them as a duet couple in addition to a real-life couple.

“The reason that ‘Chasing After You’ got to happen is because we both had open single cycles and… the timing was perfect,” he continued. “So, if we do some sort of project like that, I want the timing to be perfect. I don’t exactly know when that’s going to be, but honestly we’ve written so many songs together over the last however many years that we could cut it on Monday and it could be ready by June!”

The only thing that tops this stunning couple’s talent and ability to work together is their partnership as Mom and Dad to two-year old son, Hayes. “We love playing for tens of thousands of people every night, that’s what you grow up dreamin’ about,” said Ryan. “But there’s nothing like getting back to that kid.”

Maren agrees as she takes about missing Hayes who stayed at home in Nashville while both Maren and Ryan spent the weekend in California to perform for Stagecoach.

“This age is so much fun because it’s like he’s finally starting to put sentences together and he can communicate with us finally,” she shared. “He’s just such a happy kid. He loves being outside, he loves anything water related. He’s just such a sweet little dude. I miss him.”

Hopping back into festival and live performance mode for Maren hasn’t been easy following the pandemic, especially since she’s become accustomed to a much earlier bedtime after chasing a toddler around all day. “I just have such an early bedtime now because I have a toddler,” she laughed. “I literally go to bed at 8:30. I’m so lame now.”

Maren and Ryan both rocked the Stagecoach stage during their individual sets over the weekend. Surely enjoying the return to the iconic festival, they have no complaints leaving and heading home to their #1 priority.
