Cool down in this Sacramento heat wave with apple cider slushies (here's how)

There's no doubt this heat wave is the absolute worst. But if you're still in the mood to celebrate fall, then you've gotta try this recipe for apple cider slushies.

A Couple Cooks say there are two ways to make these slushies. If you have an ice cream maker, that's going to be the quickest method. But if you're a normal person, you probably don't have an ice cream maker. :)

In that case, all you really need to do is freeze apple cider in ice cube trays and then toss the cubes in a blender. To make them REALLY slushy, mix the blended cubes with more apple cider.

The longest part of the blender method is obviously giving them time to freeze, which could take 3-4 hours.

If you want an adult/boozy version, A Couple Cooks suggests blending in some bourbon.
