Inflation has caused prices to skyrocket on many items, thankfully the Tooth Fairy is keeping up with the times. An annual poll found that she is now paying over $5 a tooth for the first time ever.
Last year, the fairy was only giving out $4.70 for a tooth, but significantly upped her payout this year to $5.36 a tooth. She also scales her payout depending on what region of the country you live in. Kids in the Northeast are getting an average of $7.36 per tooth, while kids in the west are still barely getting over $4.

This begs the question, what does this mysterious fairy so desperately need human teeth for that she's willing to pay top dollar for them? I wouldn't rule anything out. All I know is that when I was growing up, she was paying only a single dollar for a tooth. Sometimes she wouldn't even pay at all and just leave the tooth under my pillow.
