As one of four members of the girl group BLACKPINK, Jisoo is known for her breathy voice yet powerful vocal runs, making her a kind of de facto band leader. The twenty-eight-year-old entertainer is now the final member to release solo works and launched with not one but two singles. Calling the debut her “first single album,” the songs “FLOWER” and “All Eyes On Me” are sure to impress dance-pop fans, including those who weren’t already obsessed with her.
“FINALLY! I get to share my first solo album 'ME' with you all!” Jisoo wrote in a recent Instagram post. “I hope that the BLINKs who waited patiently for me would enjoy it & hope everyone gives my album a listen”
In addition to the song’s release, Jisoo also dropped the “FLOWER” music video. She is seemingly detached from the life of luxury depicted around her, thus singing simultaneously about a break-up and life change. With the leading line translated to mean, “There was nothing left but the scent of a flower,” Jisoo performs natural yet captivating choreography in lavish hotels and a smoky street.
It’s worth mentioning, all this development has been taking place in the middle of BLACKPINK’s Born Pink World Tour, which spans 4 continents and has broken the record for k-pop girl groups with most tickets sold, which Billboard reports is at around 1.5 million. Looks like Jisoo is multitasking and still getting in her ME time.
