Over the weekend, Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet's new movie, Dune, hit theaters and HBO Max. Like us, many were excited for the duo star in the sci-fi adaptation, especially after all the intense promo and red carpet appearances.

Well as you can imagine, it came as a very unwelcome surprise to many when as it turns out Zendaya only has seven minutes of screen time in the whole film. Yep, seven. A good amount of which consist of Timothée's character Paul having visions of her. Meaning she only has lines for give or take about 2 minutes out of the 7.

Understandably feeling some type of way and a bit led astray, the masses took to Twitter to share their disappointment and frustrations over Z’s lack of screen time.

"The credits were longer than Zendaya's camera time in Dune," said one upset viewer.

Another added, "Dune really played us by acting like Zendaya was a lead when she had 3 minutes of screen time."

While a third viewer tweeted "Dune better get a sequel the way Zendaya has been put to work for the promo.”

Well, as a matter of fact there will be a sequel… As you may have noticed at the start of the film the words "Part One" written underneath the movie title.

While a second film hasn't been officially green-lit or formally announced, the film’s director Denis Villeuneve told The Los Angeles Times, ”there are some characters that are less developed that I'm keeping for the second film — that's the way I found the equilibrium. We tried in this movie to stay as close as possible to Paul's experience. Then, in the second one, I will have time to develop some characters that were left aside a little bit. That's the theory. I hope it will work."

So for those who want to see more of Zendaya (umm aka everyone), Denis has even confirmed she will in fact be the "protagonist" in the second film.

"I can't wait to shoot the second part of Dune to get Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya back together. Knowing that in the next chapter Zendaya will be the protagonist of the story,” Dennis said during an interview with Il Venerdì di Repubblica, via Collider.

In the meantime here are a few more lack of Zendaya reactions because people were really not okay… like at all.
