After teasing its arrival last month, Childish Gambino, also known as Donald Glover, has officially dropped a new version of his surprise March 2020 album, renamed ATAVISTA.
Quietly dropped four years ago, unmastered and under the name 3.15.20, the now 11-track LP has been expanded with two new tracks, including the previously teased “Little Foot Big Foot,” featuring Young Nudy, which arrived with an artsy black-and-white music video directed by Glover’s longtime collaborator Hiro Murai.
Making the announcement with a post on X and IG, Glover noted in his statement that most of the songs on ATAVISTA are “the finished version” of songs he dropped in 2020. And also noted, “there’s a special vinyl coming soon w/ visuals for each song,” and, “the all new childish gambino album comes out in the summer.”
In addition to delivering the album news, Glover also shared that he, as Childish Gambino is set and scheduled to hit the road on a global scale with The New World Tour, which will coincide with the release of what he revealed to be the last Childish Gambino project, the soundtrack to his film Bando Storm and the New World.
Beginning in August, the massive trek will see Gambino visiting North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Brining WILLOW along for the ride as support in North America, and Amaarae in Europe and Australia.
As shared in the official press release, “Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, May 17 at 10AM local time. Fans can also sign up for early access to tickets via the artist pre-sale.
