Texans sign former Cowboys, Raiders DT Maliek Collins: reports

The Texans have a new interior defensive lineman after signing veteran Maliek Collins, his agent Drew Rosenhaus told reporters Monday.

Collins is signing for one year for a maximum of $6 million, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Collins, 25, spent last season with the Raiders and his first four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

Playing on a one-year contract with the Raiders last season, Collins played in 12 games and started in 11.

The Cowboys drafted Collins out of Nebraska in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Texans hope Collins can help a defensive front which struggled against the run in 2020. Houston ranked 29th in rush DVOA, which measures efficiency in defending the run, according to Pro Football Outsiders.
