Vanessa Bryant and her daughter Natalia shared a glimpse into their uniquely special bond ahead of Mother’s Day.
The mother-daughter duo appear in a short film for Bulgari and Vogue magazine titled, “A Mother’s Legacy,” which "shares an intimate glance into their special relationship, revealing how they inspire, motivate and empower one another," reported the fashion publication.
In the video, 18-year-old Natalia says, "People may not remember what you did or may not remember what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel."
She continues to tell her mother, Vanessa, “That's the lesson that I've carried throughout my life. You're the strongest person I've ever known."
She adds, "We connect on a whole different level, and I feel like that's rare in mother-daughter relationships.”
Vanessa, 38, doted on her oldest child, saying, "You not only just an amazing daughter, but an amazing friend. You're like the constant North Star to all your friends. … No matter what, you're always there, and they can always rely on you and count on you."
Natalia responds by adding, “You always look for the positive side of any situation. You taught that to me at a young age and I’ve always carried that with me.”
The video, which features the two family members wearing Bulgari jewelry, ends with the recently signed IMG model telling her mother, “You’ve always been my rock my entire life, so that’s what I really cherish.”
Vanessa expressed her gratitude for getting to work on the project with Natalia.
"Leave a legacy. It’s not just a mother's love but the legacy we leave behind. I loved having the opportunity to spend time with my daughter Natalia while doing this campaign," she captioned the clip on Instagram.
"Thankful for this time. Thankful for this footage. Thankful for this bond."
Natalia also shared the clip and added the note: "I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to express the appreciation and admiration that I have for my mother and the legacy she has bestowed upon me. Forever grateful for what you’ve taught me. I love you."
She elaborated on her mother's influence in an interview with Vogue.
“Over the years, she taught me confidence, and that beauty comes from the inside first," the teen said. "Beauty fades, so be sure to be positive, confident and like who I am, my morals and views. That's definitely helped shape who I am as an individual."
Natalia is the eldest child of Vanessa and late husband Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020 along with their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others.
Vanessa and Kobe also share daughters Capri, 22 months, and Bianka, 4.
