'Operation Brick James' results in major drug bust on West Side: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police recovered guns and drugs as the result of a lengthy investigation.

Police said the department’s Gang Investigation Division recovered 17 firearms and more than 3 kilograms of fentanyl-laced heroin. The drugs have a value of nearly $500,000, according to police.

The CPD said this was part of the year-long operation dubbed “Operation Brick James.”

The unit targeted three street gangs in 10th, 11th and 25th Districts on the West Side. Eleven people were arrested and charged, police said.
